Uganda ‘09

January 31, 2009

Last call for Uganda ‘09 Missionaries…

Is this your year to go? If so we’ve asked for a verbal commitment within the next couple of days so that we can begin to plan more specifically. Please e-mail Pastor Heath or Michele if you are planning to join the Uganda ‘09 mission team.

Our next team meeting is February 14,  3:30 at Church of the Heartland, Winamac. We’ll use this time to get to know each other and figure out personal giftings that will shape ministry preparations. Please note that attending monthly team training meetings are a required part of the mission trip. The first $600 of the trip money will be due at the February 14th training.

Seek God about whether he wants YOU on this trip, and let us know this week!

Looking forward to doing life in Uganda,

Michele

I can assure you that we really miss your company in the ministry, more especially the day you made a visit to my home is was awesome. I wish you better preparation to come to Uganda.

Yours,

Charles Adhikuseka

It’s pretty exciting to have friends overseas anxiously awaiting the next ministry team to visit Uganda.

January 28, 2009

As some of you might know.  Own of our pastors in Uganda named Lazarus had a great fiance, but needed the extra money to get married.  With your help he was married last Saturday.  Here are some great pictures of that wonderful day for Lazarus and Juliet.

Vision Statement for Uganda ‘09
Our ministry team is committed to strengthening and encouraging the body of Christ in Uganda.  Motivated by our passionate love for Christ and His Word, we will experience the joy of living out the Great Commission and making a difference everywhere we go.  We believe that through our time on the mission field, we will grow as a team and as individuals and the Ugandan church will be empowered.

Mission Statement (will probably be revamped when we find out more about the gifts on our team)
Our team mission is to love and serve the Ugandan people the way Jesus would have.  The team will focus on two specific projects.  We will bless children through providing supplies for the new orphanage, planning kids camps, and ministering at local schools; and we will encourage pastors, leaders and married couples through life-giving teachings and conferences.

Phase 1 Orphanage Construction Almost Complete

January 11, 2009

Here is the latest Update on our orphanage in Uganda.

___________________________________________________________________________________________

Greetings from the roots of Africa.  Sorry to take long not to communicate on the orhanage due to xmas programes, construction and my camera not working.  So I had to borrow the one I have used. I did the repair of more than $100 but in vain.  So I will keep up dates on the progress.  Lets team up as to believe God for the Iron sheets by next week to be fitted on, as to be done by by plan “A”. Then we begin on plan “B” of making and fitting eight 6′x4′ windows, four metallic doors 3′x7′, then plastering the walls, and flooring.  Then plan “C” will have to buy bedding, untesils, dining and living room fittings and electricity etc…  Nice service.

Lets build the team!

January 9, 2009

THIS JUST IN:  Meeting date  is January 17, 3:30 Winamac campus.

________________________________________________________________________________________

It is time to start putting together the team that is going to Uganda.

Here is something I have found over the years.  No one has the money to go on a trip like this before they decide to go, but God always makes it happen.

The next trip is going to be around the first couple of weeks in June.  (We can’t nail down the exact dates just yet because of plane ticket prices) We are going to be doing outreaches with music and drama as well as reaching out to schools and churches.

The estimated cost is somewhere on one side or the other of $2,750.

If you want to come to a meeting (just informational.  you don’t have to commit at that time) drop me an email at pastorhiatt@hotmail.com

We will be having this meeting at the end of January.

Lets do global life together :)
